Catalyst - Agency Director

CATALYST is a unique and emerging leader in the provision of integrated marketing services. We’re driven and obsessed by our desire to create exceptional campaigns that deliver outstanding measurable results. We use consumer insights, location sensitive integrated marketing approaches to enable clients to dominate the digital and physical landscape in their target locations, combining (O2O) brand activation, live, digital and mobile marketing, ambient and traditional media channels.

We are seeking a highly qualified professional with the right combination of business, strategy and management skills to fuel growth in the agency. We need a leader with an energetic, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial outlook.


Working closely with the CEO, the Agency Director will be responsible for evangelizing and championing business development and customer acquisition strategy, implementing creative, account and project management processes, whilst building and motivating an elite team.

The Agency Director will understand the needs of our client’s thoroughly, translating them into stories with WOW-factor and aspirational O2O brand experiences for our target customers, ultimately leading to new business opportunities for CATALYST.

Growth will be measured in three ways:
Increasing agency revenues
Leadership metrics including growing, inspiration and mentoring team members
Helping nurture and deepen client relationships


The Agency Director will be responsible for creating and executing a client acquisition and account growth strategy for our integrated marketing services, driving qualified opportunities in a manner that meets goals. They will have existing c-level and senior level contacts and the ability to develop long-term relationships that generate new business. Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the Agency P&L to ensure a stable and growing business. A key measurement is net revenue and year-on-year revenue growth.

  • The Agency Director will be responsible for growing new practice areas, and a measurement of success is the revenue generated from these new practice areas.

  • Collaborating with the agency’s creative team to support pitch processes, which includes the creation of agency sales and marketing collaterals, pitch presentations, and statements of work.

  • Identifying new qualified opportunities for CATALYST using an established network as well as expanding upon that network while in the role.

  • Translate audience needs and other motivating factors into innovative strategies and concepts for compelling interactions and experiences, aligning with the client’s needs.

  • Share insights and demonstrate leadership to employees using case studies that relate to the services CATALYST delivers. This includes educating the team on industry trends so that they can better advocate our service offerings to clients.

  • Participating in activities that position the company as a ‘Thought Leader’ in the industry (e.g. blogging / trade publication contribution, social media activity, speaking engagements, attending / presenting at seminars and so on).


The Agency Director will develop and implement the strategy that will grow the business, and serve as a role model by embodying our core values. Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the CEO to define and document the strategy for the business. This includes identifying (and evolving) service offerings, determining resource needs, defining company structure and so on.

  • Mentoring, growing, inspiring and coaching team members to help them achieve their professional goals. This includes working with team members to develop annual goals, identifying skill development opportunities and supporting team members in enhancing and/or acquiring skills and conducting training.

  • Assisting with recruiting high-caliber team members. This includes helping develop job descriptions and hiring evaluation methods that will yield strong hires.

  • Ensuring that team members are living and breathing the company values and positively contributing to the culture of the company.


Through his/her interactions with clients, the Agency Director will help strengthen the connection between them and CATALYST. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing oversight on all client engagements that include creative, concept, strategy and execution components to ensure 100% client satisfaction.

  • Proactively monitoring satisfaction by conducting check-in calls and recording them in our CRM system.

  • Providing strategic assistance on key client projects within the Agency and getting involved in a hands-on manner, as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8+ years’ experience in Integrated Marketing, live events, digital or creative agency environment. At least 3-years in a leadership role in an Agency environment.

  • Proven experience in proposing and landing integrated marketing solutions, live / brand activations, strategy and creative services projects.

  • Strong strategic thinking abilities and demonstrated success in leading teams in executing strategies.

  • Superior communication, time-management, relationship management, and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

This is a full time, salaried position.

The Agency Director will receive an annual performance bonus upon accomplishment of agreed objectives and have an opportunity to participate in the company share option plan.

Catalyst - Art Director

The Art Director will work a leader in the creative and account management team, working on digital, brand and live experience projects and campaigns.

You’ll brainstorm concepts that connect customers to brands through transformative experiences. The ideal candidate will be an out-of- the-box thinker, someone who is passionate about his or her work and enjoys going above and beyond to influence changes in audience behaviour through ideas, creativity and the use of media.


The Art Director is responsible for what the brand experience will look like and will lead the process to create campaigns that have an instant and positive impact on the consumer. The Art Director must manage the creative product from start to finish, working with the client, Account & Project Managers, Production Manager, Producers and any other person required to get the job done.

The Art Director will usually work on creative projects from inception to completion and has overall sign-off on the appearance of the final product.

The Art Director will champion our creative work, actively evolving design strategies, which promote excellence.

  • Participate in the brainstorming of and creation of concepts for best-in- class brand experiences

  • Introduce and apply expert art direction to the visual elements of digital and live creative projects, uncovering new ways to incorporate emerging and new media formats into campaigns

  • Ensure a high standard of visual execution across all media and campaigns, and taking ownership of the visual elements of creative work for new business pitches

  • Inspiring and motivating our clients to be creatively progressive, through the application of fresh and inventive visual work

  • Reviewing the work of designers and providing direction and feedback

  • Able to design and produce an effective brand campaign for Commissioning specialists, such as artists, animators and photographers, to work on projects

  • Manage multiple projects, work within a budget, and stay on a schedule

  • Have excellent computer skills in relevant art and design software, including Adobe CC

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills

  • Able to collaborate actively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Able to stay cool and work under pressure

  • Must be highly motivated and well organized

  • Able to see other people’s point of view and cope with criticism, client feedback, and client revisions


  • A strong knowledge of typography, image manipulation, illustration and animation

  • A broad understanding of marketing design and layout
